Celestron Ultima Series Spotting Scopes
The Celestron Ultima series is the most popular line of spotting scopes from Celestron. These high-quality yet affordable spotting scopes feature variable magnification (zoom) and are available in three different sizes, as well as in both straight-through and angled versions. At the heart of every Ultima spotting scope is an achromatic objective lens with multi-layer anti-reflective coatings, delivering bright, clear, sharp, and high-contrast images.
The eyepiece used in Celestron Ultima spotting scopes allows smooth zoom adjustment over a wide magnification range. This enables users to observe both expansive landscapes and specific distant objects, such as wildlife, birds, architectural details, or people.
Straight-viewing Celestron Ultima spotting scopes are excellent for observations from a balcony, terrace, or during field observations, for example when viewing the opposite shore of a lake. Angled models, on the other hand, can be used in virtually any situation and can even be pointed toward the sky, allowing observation of the Moon, planets, and brighter deep-sky objects such as nebulae and star clusters. The 100 mm model is especially suitable for astronomical use thanks to its high light-gathering capability. The Ultima 65, meanwhile, is an extremely compact optical instrument that you can take virtually anywhere, such as in a backpack during hiking or cycling trips. The 80 mm models are the most versatile and are commonly used for nature observation and aircraft spotting.
The Ultima 65 offers variable magnification from 18x to 55x. A protective carrying case is included. The package also contains a zoom eyepiece providing the full 18–55x magnification range. The spotting scope can also be connected to a DSLR camera.
