Achromatic refractor with a lens diameter of 120 mm and a focal length of 600 mm. The large aperture for a refractor and a relatively short focal length make this telescope a very wide field of view. This makes it an excellent proposition for people who want to admire large open clusters, vast nebular objects or entire fragments of the Milky Way. The telescope with the AZ3 azimuth mount is a fairly light set, which, combined with its small dimensions, means that its transport or storage will not cause any problems. This telescope is also a good option for novice night sky observers. The large field of view possible with this telescope helps a lot in finding objects in the sky.
The set includes a Star Pointer finder and dovetail clamps for mounting the refractor on the assembly. It works well as a small piece of equipment for beginner observers, allowing for comfortable observations of the Moon, the Sun (using an appropriate sun filter) or planets. However, this type of telescope is best for observing large star fields, entire fragments of the Milky Way. With the right eyepieces, it can provide a field of view comparable to wide-angle binoculars at a typically telescopic range. Due to this type of properties, the telescope can be used to observe comets, especially those with extensive plaits. It is very well suited for the visual observation of variable stars. With the use of short-focal eyepieces, this telescope will allow you to observe objects on the Moon’s disc, as well as allow you to admire the planets in a basic way (here we rather recommend Maksutov type structures or refractors with a longer focal length). The construction of the telescope and the use of the azimuth mount make it a useful tool also in nature observations. Optical system This telescope is a classic, two-element achromatic refractor. A system of this type guarantees good brightness of the image obtained. The telescope collects about 290 times more light than the human eye at night, providing the ability to observe objects up to nearly 12.5 magnitude (with naked eye visibility up to magnitude 6). The size of the lens is also related to the optical resolution, which in this telescope enables it to separate stars that are more than 1.2 ”apart. In combination with the Baader Semi APO filter, we will remove most of the purple-yellow artifacts resulting from chromatic aberration that occurs in achromatic refractors.
Installation The telescope uses the AZ3 azimuth mount. It is a fairly large, but light structure that allows the telescope to be rotated vertically and horizontally, which is very convenient for landscape observations. At the same time, this mount is quite well suited for astronomical observations. The low weight of the assembly allows you to easily carry the entire set. In both axes, the assembly has micromovements that allow you to gently shift the field of view of the telescope. This assembly, complete with the telescope, has mounting clamps, after removing them and buying an optional 1/4 «adapter, it is possible to hang an ordinary camera or a landscape spotting scope.
BK1206 is equipped with a 2 «Rack & Pinion eyepiece extractor. The extractor is terminated with a mounting ring with screws clamping 2-inch accessories. There is a standard Sky-Watcher finder attachment on the extractor body. This extractor is compatible with Sky-Watcher extractor drives. -Watcher.

Ground observation
A telescope with this type of optics is very well suited for ground observation. The use of a prismatic angle cap allows the use of the telescope as a very good quality observation telescope with the possibility of shooting at a given focal length.
